Department of Forest Resource Management

Are you interested in working with unique long-term forest remote sensing datasets in a leading research environment? We are seeking a Research Assistant for a one-year position focused on processing, co-registering, and extracting features from extensive sensor and field data collected at the Remningstorp super test site, in close collaboration with researchers across multiple areas of forest remote sensing.

About the position

The Forest Remote Sensing division has conducted research for over 30 years, covering many remote sensing technologies and applications. Much research has been carried out on the Remningstorp super test site, resulting in vast amounts of sensor and field data from the same area. We now see an increase in research possibilities that will utilize time series of data. Therefore, we are opening a one-year research assistant position with the aim of processing, co-registering, and performing feature extraction from these datasets. We view this position as an opportunity for a junior candidate to gain experience with different sensor and field data as well as integrating with different scientists within various fields of forest remote sensing.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with curiosity and interest in research data, who has good communication and social skills, as part of the work involves communication with researchers. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

We are looking for a junior candidate with a master’s degree in a relevant field obtained within the last two years, for example: Forestry, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing.
