We are now looking for a Radiochemist/Radio Physicist!

About the Role

As a radio physicist, you will support colleagues in daily operational work and in task-specific issues. You will provide technical advice in radiological analyses and apply the ALARA principle in practical radiation protection in regular line work. Furthermore, you will handle strategically important issues and are expected to initiate necessary further development in the area of ALARA/radiology.

Tasks that may occur:

  • Perform gamma spectrometric measurements (ISOCS) and activity measurements with a germanium detector
  • Plan and carry out measurements according to existing instructions and routines
  • Prepare samples and perform measurements on different materials
  • Conduct radiological measurements of waste to be transported to an external receiver
  • Measure and analyze radiological levels in building structures and areas
  • Review and approve measurement data
  • Document results in databases and write technical reports

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant academic background in physics, mathematics, radiology, or equivalent
  • Good IT skills and experience working with database management
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English
  • Analytical thinking and great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team

Previous experience with radiological measurements or within nuclear technology operations is meritorious. We place great importance on personal suitability.

The Position

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment for 3 months with the possibility of permanent employment thereafter. You will be employed by Nuvia Nordic AB and work on assignment for Studsvik Nuclear AB for OKG Aktiebolag, where the work will mainly be performed. The location is primarily at OKG, but work at Ringhals AB may also become relevant.

Location: Oskarshamn

Working Hours: Daytime
