Your Responsibilities

Saab is now looking for a Materials Engineer specializing in surface technology and metallurgy for its site in Tannefors. The role includes responsibilities such as:

• Conducting investigations and qualifications in the field of surface technology and painting, where you assess the suitability of materials based on requirements, including lifespan and strength.
• Supporting design and production with investigations and problem-solving when deviations occur.
• Writing reports and requirement documents specifying the materials and processes to be used in production.
• Training personnel in the handling and application of materials.
• Keeping up to date with new materials and methods on the market that could benefit Saab's products, thereby allowing you to build on your expertise in the field.

Your Profile

For this role, we are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant academic education in chemistry, materials science, or mechanical engineering.
• Several years of experience in materials technology, providing a good understanding of the function, properties, and processes related to materials.
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you:

• Have previously worked closely with production and the application of materials.
• Have competence in painting/coatings.

The position requires you to undergo and pass security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
