Do you want a job where days are filled with singing, laughter, and running around – while making a real difference in a child's life? Are you someone who gets energy from little people and would rather sit on the floor than behind a desk? Then we are looking for you!
We are now looking for a long-term personal assistant for daytime work in a fast-paced and meaningful assignment in Luleå. You will work as an assistant to a happy, playful, and active 16-month-old boy who needs help with his breathing through a small tube in his throat. Otherwise, he is a healthy child with energy, strong will, and great curiosity about the world.
This is a daytime position where the focus is on play, development, and active presence. Here we sing, read books, build towers, explore, and chase little feet. We are looking for you who are energetic, playful, and present – and who think it is natural to sit on the floor and join in.
Apply today, selection is ongoing!
Information about the position
Professionals Nord is recruiting a personal assistant on behalf of Novum Assistans. The position is a direct recruitment, which means that the recruitment process takes place through Professionals Nord and that you are employed directly by Novum Assistans.
The position corresponds to approximately 50 percent and involves a fixed schedule with fixed days. The work takes place during daytime on weekdays.
The setup is determined in connection with employment and can be shaped in different ways from the start to suit the right candidate. This could, for example, mean working full-time every other week, approx. 07:00–16:00, or two fixed full days each week, for example Monday and Tuesday. Other fixed setups may also be relevant. Once the schedule is agreed upon, it is long-term and valid indefinitely. This is not a needs-based employment, but a long-term and scheduled role where continuity is very important.
The work is done with double staffing, which means that you always work together with a colleague, and the employment begins with a thorough introduction.
Responsibilities
As a daytime assistant, you are an active and present part of a little person's daily life. This is a job filled with movement, laughter, and development. Days consist of reading books, singing songs, building towers that get knocked down, chasing little feet across the living room floor, and discovering the world together.
You help with everything that comes with toddler life: changing diapers, dressing and undressing, brushing hair, getting out snacks, and being there when emotions swing quickly. You support him in developing his communication, exploring new things, and feeling safe in everyday life. It is a job where you sit a lot on the floor, get up quickly, are in motion, and are fully present in the moment.
At the same time, there is an important part related to his breathing. The boy was born with a weakened windpipe and therefore breathes through a small tube in his throat, a so-called tracheostomy. In practice, this means that you, together with your colleague, are responsible for supervision related to this during the day. You monitor the tracheostomy, help with inhalations if necessary, and ensure that the tube is kept clean using a convenient steam machine and a small medical “vacuum cleaner”. This is therefore an assignment for you who can combine playfulness with responsibility.
The workplace is the family's home, where the boy lives with his parents and the family dog. The home is a large and newly renovated villa with good conditions for a pleasant and well-functioning working environment.
We are looking for you who
We are looking for you who thrive in the pace of small children and enjoy being an active part of the play. You are the one who sits on the floor without hesitation, who takes the initiative to read a book, sing a song, or come up with something new when energy is spiking.
You are confident in yourself and take responsibility for your assignment. You do not wait for instructions for every step, but see what needs to be done and act accordingly. At the same time, you are calm, stable, and have the ability to maintain focus even when there is lots of life around you.
You understand that even though the child is stable, his breathing aid requires attention and maturity. You can combine playfulness with vigilance and are comfortable taking serious responsibility.
You may have worked in preschool, been a nanny or au pair, or gained experience with small children in other ways. The most important thing is that you want to work long-term and see the value in following a child over time.
For the right person, this is a job that gives both responsibility and joy – and the opportunity to become an important part of a little person's life.
