About Bofors Test Center
At Bofors Test Center, we have challenged the impossible since 1886. With our advanced testing equipment, we perform testing of everything from individual components to complete weapon systems. At our extensive testing facility in Karlskoga, tests are conducted for both manufacturers within the defense industry and civilian companies worldwide.
Bofors Test Center was originally part of Bofors and became an independent company in 1999. Commercially, the company stands on two legs; testing of weapon systems, ammunition, and missiles, as well as the destruction of explosive material. We turnover approximately 330 MSEK and have over 120 employees. Half of the turnover comes from our owners and half from the rest of the European defense industry.
The company is owned by SAAB Dynamics, BAE Systems Bofors, and Eurenco Bofors. We have developed into a large and internationally recognized player in the testing field and conduct our operations primarily within Bofors Shooting Range, an area of 100 km². The current geopolitical situation in Europe has contributed to increased demand for weapon system testing, and the market is expected to continue growing.
