to apply for the job

We are now looking for licensed nurses with experience who wish to work within day surgery, in a business where patient safety, responsibility, and professional collaboration are at the center. The Recovery Room (UVA) receives all operated outpatients at Sunderby Hospital. The work is characterized by clear flows, high tempo at times, and close collaboration between several professions.

We are now looking for employees who, with confidence and experience, want to contribute to continued stability and quality in the daily work.

The activity contributes to our 24/7 operation as the position includes at least two weekend shifts per month.

We are looking for

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing. You have experience with the medical record systems Cosmic and Provisio. It is an advantage if you have experience working in postoperative, anesthesia, or day surgery activities, and have a few years of experience in the profession and feel confident in your professional role.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a person, you are stable and maintain calm and focus in pressurized situations. You are structured, have the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively, and keep timeframes. Furthermore, you are self-reliant, take responsibility for driving processes forward, and are proactive by taking own initiatives that lead to results.

This is what you will work with

At the UVA, we are responsible for patients who undergo planned operations or procedures where the patient can go home the same day. As a nurse, you work with the entire patient process around the day surgical procedure. The work involves handling both calm and more intensive periods during the day, where the ability to prioritize, make clinical decisions, and work in a structured manner is important. The patients are often awake and the throughput is relatively high, which places demands on a professional and secure approach.

At the UVA there are:

  • 10 monitoring stations
  • A separate children's UVA with 5 monitoring stations and its own children's flow

Rotation to our postoperative unit occurs according to agreement and Region Norrbotten's guidelines. This provides an opportunity for variation and broader clinical competence. Therefore, training is also included in our postoperative unit. The work at PostOP is varied and educational; here you meet patients of all ages with a large variation of surgical procedures. At PostOP, patients who have undergone major surgery with a more care-intensive and longer postoperative course are treated.

With us, you get the opportunity to work in a specialized activity where your experience is significant – both for the patients and for the continued development of the unit.

This is what we offer you

  • Doubled compensation for work during inconvenient working hours. An investment Region Norrbotten makes for employees in 24/7 operations, something that makes us unique among regions in Sweden.
  • This activity is covered by Region Norrbotten's extra investment in nurses: Read more here (https://www.norrbotten.se/sv/jobba-hos-oss/anstallningsvillkor-och-utveckling/).
  • Internal postoperative education.
  • Development and career opportunities where you get to help create the health and care of the future.
  • Health-promoting workplaces with access to fitness activities and fitness allowance.
  • Link to our benefits: Read more here (https://www.norrbotten.se/sv/jobba-hos-oss/anstallningsvillkor-och-utveckling/).

Information about the position

We offer a permanent full-time position. The position is mainly scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday, with a limited amount of afternoon shifts. Two weekend shifts per month at our postoperative unit are included. Selection and interviews take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the last application date.

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.

We strive to have employees with knowledge of Sweden's national minority languages and therefore value your knowledge in Sami, Meänkieli, Finnish, Romani Chib, and Yiddish. We actively work for an even gender distribution and see diversity as a strength. We welcome employees with different backgrounds and work to ensure our workplace is accessible to everyone.

Welcome with your application!
