At Norrskenet, we strive to strengthen, improve, and develop our operations to become the best possible version of Norrskenet. We value our important role as the patient's often first and closest contact with healthcare, and we are proud of our family-like atmosphere, our fantastic team, our short decision-making paths, and our presence in rural areas. The next step towards our goal is to strengthen our operations by adding another specialist clinic focused on geriatric care and another diabetes nurse to our existing diabetes clinic. Therefore, we are looking for two nurses with different specializations.

About Us

Norrskenet Health Centre is a complete health centre in Vittangi with branches in Kiruna, Svappavaara, and Karesuando. The branch in Kiruna is our largest workplace, where we have doctors, nurses, a rehabilitation department/paramedics, as well as child and maternal care.

Together, we work daily to offer the best possible care and accessibility for our approximately 7,000 registered patients. We work systematically to develop our methods and create good structure and efficiency in our work. Our primary focus is patient safety and the quality of care we provide. We like to be close to our patients even if distances are large, so digital solutions are a natural part of our daily lives.

Who You Are / Qualifications

Professional Requirements: For the first position, you are a licensed district nurse/nurse with education, experience, and/or interest in geriatric care. For the second position, you are a licensed district nurse/nurse with education, experience, and/or interest in diabetes care.

For both positions, we are looking for someone who enjoys their work and feels energy and joy in the profession. You see the benefit of working together with others, believe that knowledge is meant to be shared, and are open to others' perspectives. Commitment and responsibility are prerequisites, and you should be able to work independently. As emergency care is part of the role, the ability to remain calm and act steadily in stressful situations is required.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Knowledge of Finnish, Meänkieli, and/or Sami is positive but not a requirement.

What We Offer You

Here, you become part of a small and close-knit team with short decision-making paths. You will have a meaningful and varied job with great responsibility and opportunities to engage in improvement work. We have an open climate where ideas and initiatives are welcome and feedback is seen as a prerequisite for development. Above all, you will have fantastic patients and countless warm encounters to cherish! We also offer a 5,000 SEK wellness allowance.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the daily work involving clinic visits, telephone reception/scheduling, digital patient contacts, and collaboration with the municipality and the region. In addition, as a geriatric nurse, you will be responsible for developing a routine for geriatric care together with our designated work group and for running a specialist clinic in the area, alongside your other duties. As a diabetes nurse, you will work closely with our current diabetes nurse, also alongside your other duties. You will primarily work in our Kiruna operations, but shifts at other units may occur. As a resident of Kiruna, you commute by bus or company car during working hours.

Kiruna

There is a promotional video for Kiruna that starts with “Kiruna – it’s not the end of the world – it’s way beyond,” which is telling for the municipality. With a mix of wit and actual reality, Kiruna is not in the middle; Kiruna is high up in space and far down under the earth's surface, infinitely bright and magically dark, impressive mountain slopes and vast views, challenging conditions and energizing encounters and nature, and it is above all something you won't find anywhere else.
