About the Digitalization Department

The Digitalization Department is a strategic key function driving the region's digital development forward. We are responsible for the entirety of IT operations and IT development, system administration, and medical technology – ensuring that the organization has stable, modern, and purposeful digital solutions that support both healthcare and administration.

With approximately 80 engaged employees, we are organized into four specialized units:

• Digitalization of Health and Medical Care
• Digitalization of Regional Development and Support
• Digitalization of System Support and Infrastructure
• Digitalization of Medical Technology

Together, we form a broad and competent force that combines technology, operational understanding, and development capability. We are located in centrally placed premises directly at Östersund Hospital, with Medical Technology located inside the hospital to provide fast and close service to healthcare operations.

Our strategy is based on combining internal competence with the strengths of the market. Therefore, we primarily procure services for IT operations, administration, development, and medical technology from external actors – and ensure through professional management that the region receives high quality, good cost control, and future-proof solutions.

We are seeking an IT Architect

Region Jämtland Härjedalen is facing an exciting digital development journey. We are now looking for an IT Architect who wants to help build our architecture function from the ground up. With us, there is an opportunity to create structure, direction, and long-term vision in an organization where digitalization is a central part of the future of healthcare and service.

As an IT Architect, you will have a key role in developing the region's technical and application architecture. You will work both strategically and operationally: one day you support the operations with urgent needs, the next day you create target architectures and roadmaps that shape the region's digital development in the long term.

This is a role for you who thrive in an environment where much is yet to be done and where you have significant influence over how the work is built up.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop and manage target architectures and long-term roadmaps.
• Develop the region's architectural principles and ways of working.
• Work closely with operations to understand needs, processes, and challenges.
• Support projects and initiatives with architecture competence and guidance.
• Visualize complex relationships and create clarity in decision-making.
• Contribute to building a cohesive architecture function together with colleagues within digitalization and operations.
• Balance short-term solutions with long-term strategic choices.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have experience as an IT Architect in larger organizations, preferably within the public sector or complex operations.
• Have broad knowledge in technical infrastructure, application landscapes, information management, and digital ecosystems.
• Are accustomed to working with or based on established frameworks but also confident in adapting and building new where needed.
• Enjoy working in an environment where structures and ways of working are being established.
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and build trust throughout the organization.
• Are analytical, curious, and have an easy way of seeing the big picture and connections.
• Have a relevant academic education or equivalent experience.

Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with registry check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be carried out before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
