As a train driver for the Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company, you help facilitate daily life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

Responsibilities

The Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company is in a growth phase, and we are therefore looking for someone who wants to work as a train driver. We operate on-demand traffic and have operations throughout the country, primarily for the Swedish Transport Administration's internal needs for testing and transport.

Your main duties, in addition to driving trains safely, include vehicle preparation, shunting work, safety inspections, and training in the role of an instructor driver.

Our clients are found both internally within the Swedish Transport Administration and externally in organizations linked to the Swedish Transport Administration as infrastructure managers. Our assignments vary in nature, where no two drives are alike. This means that high demands are placed on your ability to work independently.

In addition to the duties as a train driver, the position can be partially adapted to your profile and previous experience, for example by:

• Holding the role of an instructor driver with associated tasks such as individual follow-ups, examinations, vehicle training, and other training initiatives. This also requires pedagogical skills.
• Supporting other functions within the Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company.
• Supporting projects within the Vehicle Resources department for rail vehicles.

Train driver duties can occur at any time of the day and on any day of the week, which means you must be prepared for weekend work and overnight stays at other locations. As a train driver at the Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company, you work in shifts and serve every other weekend. The intended schedule is to work 8 days in a row and then have 6 days off.

Qualifications

Who are you?

To succeed in the role of a train driver, we believe you have a high ability to plan and structure your own work. You are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks with a safety mindset in everything you do. You are skilled in problem-solving, identifying problems, and developing solutions from a holistic perspective. This is also a role with many collaborative interfaces, so it is important that you have good collaboration skills.

We are looking for someone who has

• A train driver's license with training and permission to drive trains in system H.
• At least 3 years of work experience in the role of a train driver.
• Training on vehicle type Rc.
• A driver's license for passenger cars.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Meets current health requirements for train drivers according to TSFS 2011:61.

It is an asset if you have

• Experience and competence in the role of an instructor driver (preferably in vehicle types Rc1, Rc6, and Y1).
• Competence to drive on system E2.
• Training on vehicle types Rc1, Rc6, or Y1/Y1S.
• Experience of driving during trial operations.
• Experience of driving freight trains.

The Swedish Transport Administration's Vehicle Resources is one of the Swedish Transport Administration's business units, and the operation is run in a company-like form. Our mission is to be responsible for the Swedish Transport Administration's vehicle fleet and emergency resources. This includes managing the operation as a railway company, delivering and renting out rail vehicles and road vehicles. The assignment also includes delivering emergency resources such as tracked vehicles, temporary bridges, and generators. Vehicle Resources should be a resource in society's crisis management.
