Do you want to help shape the future of Västerås? At our construction unit, you will have the chance to make a difference! We are responsible for the city's earthworks and construction projects and are an important part of Västerås city development. With us, you become part of a tight-knit group where engagement and joy characterize everyday life.
Your responsibilities
As a construction worker, you will participate in carrying out earthworks and construction projects from start to finish. You will work on both smaller and larger construction projects where you will conduct and coordinate daily work with support from site managers and project leaders. In your work, you will perform various earthworks such as road construction, pipeline work, and the construction of parks and playgrounds. At the construction site, you will coordinate resources such as excavators and trucks, receive materials, and perform measurements.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone with a vocational certificate as a road and construction worker or equivalent education or experience suitable for the position. You must be able to perform simple setting-outs and use laser equipment proficiently in your work. You also need knowledge of earthworks and construction. Since much of the work is often performed in traffic, previous experience working in traffic environments is considered an asset. Furthermore, experience with water and sewage (VA) and district heating work, detailed planning, and coordination and planning of resources on the work site is an asset. A Class B driver's license is a requirement as you will use a car for work. As a person, you are self-reliant and driven, and you take responsibility for your tasks. You enjoy working with others and are service-oriented towards both colleagues and customers.
We offer
We offer a workplace where you get varied and meaningful tasks, the opportunity to grow in your role, and contribute to a sustainable and well-functioning Västerås. You will become part of the Technical and Property Administration, where we together ensure that the city's infrastructure, parks, roads, and public transport are developed and maintained in the best possible way.
If you want a workplace where you can work close to the city and its inhabitants, while having fun with competent colleagues, then this is the right place for you!
Here you become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show determination in both big and small things. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
