About the position

Within the Waste Management operations, we offer Örebro residents an environmentally friendly and cost-effective waste management. Our waste is a resource that is utilized through recycling. What is recycled is used for the production of new things, and in this way, we save our natural resources. As an employee in Waste Management at the Technical Administration, you contribute to making everyday life easier for Örebro residents. Our mission is to provide sustainable and accessible waste management that motivates and makes it easy for Örebro residents to sort correctly. We do this in close dialogue and interaction with colleagues, politics, citizens, and business. With us, you get a chance to develop both yourself and the municipality.

Examples of tasks:

• Collect waste with a rear-loading garbage truck
• Transport hazardous waste
• Emptying of containers
• Participate in our container service and perform other machine services as needed
• Follow applicable traffic rules and safety regulations
• Maintain the operations' vehicles
• Work with a focus on quality and the environment
• Continuous reporting in current operational systems

About the workplace

Within Waste Management, you will become part of a team of approximately 70 employees working together to deliver sustainable and accessible waste management. We want to make it easy for Örebro residents to sort correctly and reduce their waste. We operate from several different workplaces and move throughout Örebro municipality to take care of the municipality's waste, which means you will meet many colleagues and residents in your daily work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is social and service-oriented and who does their best to deliver solutions in meetings with both colleagues and citizens. Your ability to cooperate is good, but you also enjoy working independently. You must master the Swedish language both orally and in writing, as the work involves many contacts with Örebro municipality's citizens. To succeed in the role of Waste Collector, you must take responsibility for being physically capable of the tasks, as the position may involve some strenuous duties. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Completed and approved upper secondary education or other education deemed suitable by the employer
• Driver's license class C
• Valid vocational competence certificate for heavy trucks
• Good physical fitness

Employment type: Temporary position, varying periods depending on which vehicle you are substituting for.
