Summer Internship as a Facility Technician at SiS LVM Home Östfora
The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues, as well as closed youth care. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS LVM Home Östfora, located in Järlåsa northwest of Uppsala, admits men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse combined with mental health issues. We have specialized competence in medical care and are tasked with providing care for clients with special needs.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try a summer internship as a facility technician with us. As a facility technician, you are responsible for the basic service at the institution. You maintain and repair our various properties, working in both client and staff areas. You are also responsible for our service vehicles and ensuring that associated equipment functions correctly.
Other common tasks include system checks, goods handling, recycling, waste management, and systematic fire safety work. The role also involves traveling for various purposes.

Working Hours: Daytime, Monday–Friday.
Introduction
As a summer intern at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment. To be considered for this internship, you must be able to participate in a two-week theoretical introduction (Mon–Fri, 08:00–15:30). Following the theoretical introduction, you will be introduced to the practical work and shadow our regular facility technician.
Qualifications
We place great emphasis on your personal suitability. You should be service-oriented, self-reliant, flexible, and have good communication skills.
Requirements:
- Completed upper secondary education.
- Facility management education or equivalent.
- Experience in facility maintenance.
- Good Swedish in speech and writing.
- Class B driver's license and access to a car.
