At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are a total of about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!
Do you want to lead in a socially important operation that makes a difference every day? We are now looking for an engaged and present unit manager for the asylum assessment unit in Uppsala.

Your Mission
As a unit manager at the Swedish Migration Agency, you will have the opportunity to lead a unit in constant development, where improvements and long-term thinking are a natural part of everyday life. The unit currently consists of engaged employees, and you will be an important player in the section management group.
You will have full responsibility for personnel, budget, and work environment and lead your employees by being present, supportive, and decisive. You will work with your employees to identify areas for improvement, create structure and conditions for participation, and drive a culture of accountability and development. When you work in an asylum assessment unit, you become part of the new and reformed asylum reception.

The operation you will lead is a production operation, and you are expected to work closely with your employees regarding follow-up, goals, and results.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on good judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
We are looking for someone who has:
- an academic degree (at least 120 credits) in a relevant field or other education combined with relevant experience
- experience in leading and developing groups and/or individuals
- experience in leading change
- very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- managerial experience with responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget within a government agency
- experience in driving change work with good results
- experience in working within the asylum process
- extensive experience of the Swedish Migration Agency's case processes.
Information
Employment type: Permanent position with a probationary period.
Working hours: Office hours with the possibility of an agreement on trust-based working hours.
Location: Uppsala, travel to nearby offices may occur in the position.
Start date: By agreement.
