Just 40 minutes from the pulse of Åre, in a secluded location in the mountains near the border with Norway, lies the mountain lodge Skalstugan. We are now looking for a colleague who wants to take responsibility and be a central part of the daily operations of our mountain lodge. We are looking for you who want to engage with us, our guests, and the experience we provide.

Skalstugan is a small and family-oriented facility characterized by good, close hospitality. The Skalstugan foundation also includes a large piece of private land, several mountain cabins, our own ski trails, paths, boats, and fishing waters. A place for outdoor life and recreation where the good atmosphere makes many guests return year after year.

Guests staying at the lodge have full board. We do most of the cooking from scratch and are proud of the unique opportunity to base much of our menu on meat and fish that comes directly from our own land.

In the role of operations manager, you will have a varied and developing job where you combine operational work in the dining room and cleaning with administrative tasks. You will work closely with the operational manager and other employees to create a well-functioning everyday life for both guests and colleagues. You are responsible for the daily operations when you are on-site and act as the acting operational manager when they are off.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • Participate in and lead the daily work in the lodge operations
  • Be responsible for purchases and orders related to beverages, consumables, and kiosk items.
  • Manage bookings and guest contact via email and our booking system Sirvoy
  • Support in staff planning and simpler personnel issues
  • During closed periods, you will alternate administrative work (which can be done remotely) with practical work on-site.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in service, tourism, hotels, or similar (preferable) and preferably an interest in food and beverages
  • Is structured, self-driven, solution-oriented, and enjoys varied tasks
  • Has good organizational skills and the ability to see both the big picture and details
  • Has good communication skills and enjoys working with people

If you want a varied job and the opportunity for a rich outdoor life, we believe you will thrive especially well with us.

The position is a parental leave cover that extends from June 2026 to October 2027. During Skalstugan's open periods (February-April, Midsummer - September, and one week over New Year's), you are expected to work full-time on-site. Staff accommodation is available. During closed periods, tasks and the possibility of working remotely may vary. Employment rate for the entire period is 80-100% according to agreement.

The employment includes a monthly salary and 25 days of vacation per calendar year.

We are recruiting continuously, welcome with your application!
