About the Assignment

You will join a client in industrial robotics and advanced automation where electrical safety is a key part of product quality, compliance, and market readiness.

In this role, you will act as a technical authority across the product lifecycle, from early development to certification and release. You will help ensure that robotic systems, robot cells, and automated machinery meet global electrical safety requirements, while translating complex standards into practical engineering solutions. The assignment offers a broad interface across R&D, production, HSE, quality, and external certification bodies.

Job Description
  • Perform and review electrical safety risk assessments for robotic systems and automated machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC / EN 60204-1, ISO 10218, NFPA 79, UL standards, and the EU Machinery Regulation.
  • Review electrical schematics and system designs from a safety and compliance perspective.
  • Advise on grounding, protective devices, isolation, emergency stops, and arc flash risks.
  • Support audits, certifications, and dialogue with external regulatory and certification bodies such as UL and TüV.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks early and secure compliant solutions throughout development and production.
  • Contribute to clear and accurate safety documentation to support certification and product release.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
  • Solid experience with electrical systems in industrial machinery or robotics.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC, EN, UL, and NFPA standards.
  • Ability to interpret standards and turn them into practical engineering requirements.
  • Fluent in English.
Nice to have
  • Experience with robot cells.
  • Experience with certification processes.
  • Experience with arc flash risk assessment.
  • Experience working in global product environments.
