Security Protection Officer with a focus on exposure of security-sensitive activities to FMTIS Intelligence and Security Department

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (FMTIS) is looking for a security officer focused on the exposure of security-sensitive activities (security-protected procurement) based in Arboga.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position falls under the Security Department within the FMTIS Staff (J2) for Exposure of Security-Sensitive Activities under the leadership of the Security Chief. Your task is to independently handle security-related matters within the framework of FMTIS's security-sensitive activities. The tasks are varied with good opportunities to utilize your experiences and competencies to achieve the best possible effect.

Staff involved in the department are located in many places across the country, with the main part in Örebro.

In this position, you will represent FMTIS security service with a focus on exposure of security-sensitive activities in meetings with other organizational units within the Armed Forces, other authorities, and the defense industry.

The position will involve national travel.

MAIN TASKS

As a security protection officer focused on exposure of security-sensitive activities, you will handle a large volume of security protection agreements and background checks, ensuring that the unit's matters related to security protection are managed in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations in the security area. You report to the Chief J2 and are functionally led by the Security Chief.

  • Provide support to the FMTIS Security Chief within security service specifically focused on exposure of security-sensitive activities
  • Support FMTIS operations within security protection
  • Draft and establish security protection agreements for procedures carried out by external suppliers
  • Conduct, manage, and follow up background checks of consultants
  • Support units within FMTIS and suppliers with e.g. support within your own function and conduct training initiatives
  • Conduct follow-up and control of suppliers

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Current and relevant post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
  • Current and relevant experience as an officer/investigator or equivalent.
  • Good ability to communicate and express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)

We are looking for someone who is analytical, curious, meticulous, proactive, and security-conscious. You need to be service-oriented and enjoy working both independently and in a team. It is also important that you take responsibility and have the ability to see the big picture. To succeed in the job, you need to have high social competence so that you can establish contacts both internally and externally. Good administrative skills are also required. We also expect you to have a long-term commitment to your employment and contribute to a good reputation externally.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous or current employment within the Armed Forces
  • Knowledge of the Security Protection Act, as well as confidentiality legislation and information classification.
  • Training from the Armed Forces in security (KHS or SOK)
  • Experience of staff work within security service
  • Experience of work within FMTIS operational areas
  • Familiarity with working within FM support systems
  • Current and relevant experience in training larger and smaller groups

Workplace Development

You will receive basic training in security service. Opportunities to broaden your competence in security protection and further training in the area will be offered.

OTHER

Employment type: Civil permanent employment, with a six-month probationary period for applicants who are not currently employed within the Armed Forces.

Employment rate: Full-time.

Work location: Arboga. Travel is included in the position.

Start date: As soon as possible.
