We have about 45 employees responsible for the municipality's detailed and comprehensive planning, land and development issues, property matters, port management, nature conservation, strategic environmental work, building permits, environmental issues, and the municipality's mapping and GIS activities.

In the building permit unit, we are 7 people working on behalf of the Community Planning Committee. We handle permit and notification matters as well as supervision according to the Planning and Building Act, PBL. JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a building inspector focused on supervision according to the Planning and Building Act, PBL. Common cases include illegal construction, supervision of elevators, and easily remedied obstacles.

As a building inspector, you work independently but in close collaboration with colleagues in the unit. The work includes supervisory visits, investigations, communication, and decision-making. You write documentation and proposals for decisions, prepare and present cases for the politicians in the Community Planning Committee.

In this role, you collaborate with colleagues, supporting each other throughout the case process. You also contribute to developing routines and working methods for the unit's future work. Furthermore, it includes keeping the existing supervision plan updated and, based on it, planning the municipality's supervisory work. The work involves many contacts with operators, other authorities, and the public, but also with other units within the administration, such as the environmental unit and the planning unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in law or another education in the field of community planning that we consider equivalent, or several years of experience as a building permit officer or building inspector. Experience working with community planning issues within public administration and good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, PBL, is an advantage.

We place great importance on your personal qualities, and you who apply for the position are both engaged and solution-oriented while being structured and results-oriented. The work is outward-facing and requires a good ability to conduct trustworthy authority work in meetings with people. This means you have the ability to understand various types of situations since those we meet are both operators and private individuals. It is also important for us that you can communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

You also want to contribute to the common goals of the building permit unit and enjoy working both independently and in a team. Since we work with authority exercise, it is important that you are reliable, self-assured, and can remain calm in pressured situations. You can make your own decisions and maintain a high level of service with a professional approach.

Driving is part of the job, so you need to have a B driver's license.
