JOB DESCRIPTION

As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with clients. The tasks at the prison/remand facility are varied: care, surveillance, searching, and security work mixed with release planning and conversation/motivation work. Work at the remand facility is often routine-driven and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be held in custody for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand facility, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer.

Due to commuting, Salberga offers a bus solution that will run Monday-Sunday throughout the summer period. More information will be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You should be able to act physically when required.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Work experience in corrections, security work, or psychiatry.
• Knowledge in relevant fields, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• Fluency in multiple languages.
• A valid B driver's license.
