Care Assistant to Odvalds Special Housing
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Odvalds Special Housing
In early 2026, Odvalds Special Housing opened in Klintehamn – a modern and nature-oriented facility where we build working methods, routines, and teams from the ground up.
Here you will have the opportunity to be part of a startup phase and influence how future dementia care is shaped, together with new colleagues.
Odvalds is a new and modern residence for people with dementia and somatic needs, with 60 apartments across six ground-level departments. There are bright premises with large windows and generous light, spacious apartments, and an easily accessible outdoor environment with gardens and walking paths. The residence is beautifully located near nature, forests, and the sea – an environment that contributes to the well-being of both residents and staff.
We are now looking for a care assistant for our dementia care.
You will belong to one of our departments that will open shortly. If you long for development and change, this may be the right place for you!
Your Responsibilities
As a care assistant, you will among other things:
- Perform standard care tasks such as personal care, household chores, medication administration, and other delegated healthcare tasks, focusing on safety and continuity.
- Contribute to a meaningful and individualized daily life through guidance, activities, and social interaction.
- Work with a calm and respectful approach based on each person's cognitive ability and daily condition.
- Participate in and perform palliative care and provide support to both residents and relatives in the end-of-life phase.
- Work according to IBIC and person-centered care with a focus on the individual's needs, habits, and life history.
- Have case management responsibilities, including establishing and following up on implementation plans.
- Document, maintain contact with relatives, and handle some administration.
- Collaborate with unit managers, nurses, and rehabilitation staff to create a safe care environment.
- Be involved in developing working methods and routines in the operation.
- Be flexible and, if necessary, support other departments, for example, in somatic care.
- Work days, evenings, and every other weekend.
