Assistant Nurse to the Emergency Department

Our emergency department is open around the clock and receives sick and injured patients who need urgent care. This means that we work all day and night, both weekdays and weekends, and we receive approximately 47,000 patients annually in Umeå. At the emergency department, nurses, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries work in teams together with emergency physicians and doctors from various specialties. The work at the emergency department is qualified and requires flexibility and good collaboration skills. At our emergency department, you also have the option to choose a modified work schedule model 3-3, which allows for more recovery time.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

As a staff member in the emergency department, you constantly meet new patients of all ages, with all types of ailments and accidents. It is a stimulating job that requires good collaboration and a positive attitude between colleagues and professional groups.

As an assistant nurse, you are part of a cross-professional team that together meets the patients' needs for care. Your tasks in the team may include sampling, casting, caring for severely ill patients and trauma cases, nursing, and assisting colleagues with various patient management tasks.

No two days are alike with us; here you will constantly learn new things and develop your skills in your professional role.

The position is a temporary contract until 31/12 but with a possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a certified assistant nurse education. Since assistant nurse is a protected title as of July 1, 2023, you need to present a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. To fit into the role, we prefer that you have a few years of professional experience in hospital care, but this is not a requirement. Experience in emergency care is an advantage.

We believe that you enjoy variation in your work and have the ability to take responsibility. You see the value of good collaboration and contribute to this through your engagement. You like to work under pressure at times and have the ability to be flexible. You are confident in your profession and enjoy working with other professional categories in your team.

We believe that you are proactive, have good communication skills, and have an interest in emergency care and want to help develop our work at the emergency department together with us.
