Assistant Nurse to the Orthopedic Department

The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Description

In the orthopedic department, we work with both acute and elective care.

We have a total of 23 care places divided into 15 acute and 8 elective places. Our acute care places are open around the clock all week, and we care for patients who, for example, have fractures, suffer from back pain, or have undergone amputation. In the elective places, we care for patients, both pre- and post-operatively, in connection with prosthetic surgery (knees, hips, shoulders). Our elective places are open around the clock Monday to Friday. On the department, we are about 40 nurses and nursing assistants who work together in a wonderful and close-knit team in new and fresh facilities. We also have a close collaboration with other professions and units within the hospital to create the best possible care for our patients. With us, you will work with rehabilitation after both acute injuries and planned orthopedic procedures.

As a nursing assistant in the Orthopedic Department, you have the opportunity to influence and make a difference for the patient in your daily work.

Qualifications

You are a trained nursing assistant with an acute focus, and experience from hospital care is an advantage. We see that you have a good ability to plan and coordinate your work. Your working style is characterized by being driven, independent, and flexible. Additionally, you prefer to work in a team and thus have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Working hours

The employment is full-time and covers all hours of the day.

Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
