OOF Residential Home with Special Services
Do you want to make a real difference? Here at our care services, we work to create a meaningful everyday life for children and young people with various disabilities.
We support and encourage our users to live as independently and richly as possible, with security, joy, and community as guiding stars.
We run several operations for children and young people, including short-term accommodation, short-term supervision, youth accommodation, and residential services for children.
We are now looking for a male support assistant for our residential service for children in eastern Visby. The selection is based on the user's needs and with respect for personal integrity.
Your Responsibilities
As an employee, you will become an important part of the children's daily lives. Here, you will meet children with neuropsychiatric, intellectual, and physical disabilities in a warm, home-like environment. You will work based on decisions according to LSS and have close cooperation with other important people in the children's lives.
A typical workday may involve supporting during meals and morning routines, ensuring that the children get to school, welcoming them home, and providing care, such as hygiene and showering. You will create and participate in activities that inspire, develop, and bring joy and be a safe role model and a stable presence.
Working hours are varied: days, evenings, sleeping nights, and weekends.
Who Are You?
We primarily seek someone who is a support assistant and has a high school education in health and care, child and leisure, is a trained social pedagogue and/or personal assistant, preferably with a focus on social work. A B driver's license is required for the position.
It is advantageous if you have education and/or experience working in care for individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably with children or young people. It is also beneficial if you have experience with pedagogical methods, challenging behavior, low-arousal responses, sign communication, and visual support, as well as knowledge of LSS, SoL, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine commitment to working with children and young people and who sees each child's unique needs. You feel comfortable working both independently and with colleagues, contributing warmth, care, and stability in everyday life.

Your positive and service-oriented attitude means you enjoy finding creative ways to plan and carry out activities that stimulate the children's development based on their needs and wishes.
Since the job may involve both lifting and playful activities, you need to have good physical condition and enjoy being active – whether outdoors in the fresh air or indoors.
