Your Responsibilities

As a care assistant in Åleryd's BPSD unit, you work closely with the residents and contribute to a calm, safe, and meaningful everyday life. The work involves providing support in personal care, hygiene, meals, and daily activities, as well as helping each person maintain their abilities and independence as much as possible.

You work together with colleagues and licensed staff to create structure and continuity in care. The role includes being a contact person, which means you follow the resident's needs over time and maintain contact with relatives, as well as participate in planning and follow-up of services. Documentation is a natural part of the work and contributes to quality and safety for the residents.

Working in a BPSD unit is largely about interaction, presence, and creating safety in everyday life. Occasionally, there may be outwardly aggressive behavior, and you will receive support on how to act safely and correctly in these situations. Introduction and guidance are tailored to your experiences.

Your Workplace

The Health and Care Administration provides elderly care under municipal management in Linköping. Åleryd's nursing home is located in Ekholmen with good bus connections from the travel center. Here, the operations manager, coordinator, and licensed staff are close at hand, creating good conditions for support and collaboration in daily work. At the end of 2026, we will co-locate the BPSD places in Linköping Municipality. This means that the operation will then be conducted at Valthornsgatan.

Department P is a specialized BPSD unit with six places for people with dementia. The smaller operation allows you to get to know the residents well and work person-centered. The accommodation offers a pleasant environment with a sensory garden and café where residents, relatives, and staff can meet.

The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. The position is for 75–100 percent.

Who We Are Looking For

You are a trained care assistant and have experience working in care, support, and assistance. It is advantageous if you have experience in dementia care, psychiatry, or work within LSS. If you have worked with BPSD assessments, this is also a merit.

You have good Swedish in both spoken and written form as the work involves daily communication with residents, relatives, and colleagues, as well as documentation.

We are looking for someone who collaborates well with others and contributes to a good work environment. You take responsibility for your tasks and can work independently when needed. You have an empathetic ability and meet people with respect and understanding. You communicate clearly, follow up on agreements, and contribute to structure and safety in everyday life.
