Job Description

The Child and Youth Health Service is a regional clinic within the Psychiatric Center in Region Östergötland. The clinic includes Child Health Services, Youth Health Services, the Young Adults Counseling Center, Trauma Teams, and the reception function One Path In.

Youth Health works to promote sexual and psychosocial health among young people aged 13–25. Our mission is to provide early interventions to prevent mental health issues and offer assessment, counseling, and shorter treatments for mild to moderate mental health problems. We offer conversations in the form of supportive, crisis, and treatment discussions, internet-based CBT treatment, as well as lectures and group activities.

In the western part of the region, there are clinics in Motala and Mjölby, and the operations are conducted in collaboration between the municipalities and Region Östergötland. Youth Health is part of the first line of care for mental health.

Your Responsibilities as a PTP Psychologist

• Assessment, counseling, and treatment of young people aged 13–25 with mild to moderate mental health issues.
• Documentation and record-keeping according to current guidelines and evidence-based practices.
• Collaboration with other professionals in teams and, if necessary, with other organizations.
• Participation in development work, quality assurance, and digital treatment programs.

About PTP in Region Östergötland

Region Östergötland offers a cohesive and quality-assured PTP program that provides you as a new psychologist with a safe and developing start in your professional life. Our program includes seminars, lectures, and collegial meetings where you have the opportunity to broaden your skills, deepen your professional role, and create a network with other PTP psychologists in the region.

We have an appointed PTP study director who acts as support for you, your supervisor, and your manager throughout the year. All PTP psychologists have a supervisor with at least three years of professional experience, and individual supervision takes place regularly, at least one hour per week, in accordance with our quality criteria and the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations.

We are proud of our PTP program – it is an important part of our long-term competence supply and an expression of our commitment to the development of the psychology profession.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a recognized psychology degree upon commencement and good knowledge of Swedish, corresponding to C1 level.

You are:

• Interested in child development and the family's role in mental health.
• Flexible and confident in meeting different target groups in a varied everyday life.
• Collaborative and easily able to establish contact with both children and adults.
• Reflective and engaged in the preventive mission.
• Previous experience working with children, adolescents, or parents is meritorious.
