Operational Buyer Wanted for Consulting Assignment in Western Småland via TNG.

Are you an operational Buyer who enjoys being close to the business and wants to contribute to a stable and efficient supply chain? TNG is now looking for a Buyer for a consulting assignment with our client in Western Småland. In this role, you will work broadly with operational purchasing, supplier follow-up, forecasts, and assortment analysis to ensure the right products at the right time and at the right cost. You will collaborate closely with functions such as sales, warehousing, and product managers, contributing to the development of purchasing and supply chain processes. The assignment starts relatively soon, but no later than mid-April, and lasts for about 3-4 months, with a good chance of extension.

As a Buyer, you will help ensure good availability in the assortment through structured purchasing work and continuous follow-up of deliveries and suppliers. You will be employed as a consultant by TNG and work on assignment with our client in Western Småland. The assignment provides you with a good opportunity to quickly step into an important role and contribute your expertise to a company in progressive development.

Your Responsibilities

• Be responsible for operational purchasing of the assigned assortment
• Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely and quality deliveries
• Work with forecasts and update reorder points
• Conduct assortment analyses based on key figures such as service level and inventory turnover
• Ensure correct item data and purchasing parameters in the business system
• Communicate supply chain deficiencies to relevant internal functions
• Follow up suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations
• Handle delivery-related complaints
• Participate in purchasing projects and improvement initiatives
• If necessary, work with import-related issues such as customs handling

Worth Knowing

You will be employed by TNG and work as a consultant with our client in Western Småland. The assignment starts as soon as possible, but no later than mid-April, and is expected to last for about 3-4 months, with a good chance of extension. The assignment can be performed part-time or full-time.

You will report to the CEO and work closely with a smaller purchasing team. The role is primarily operational and involves collaboration with several internal functions such as sales, product, and warehousing.

Working hours are daytime, approximately 08:00-17:00 with flexibility. There is also an opportunity for hybrid work one day a week, subject to agreement.

Our Expectations

We are looking for someone with experience in operational purchasing and who thrives in a role where structure, quality, and business acumen are important aspects of the work. You have post-secondary education in purchasing, logistics, or equivalent work experience and have worked for at least a few years in a similar purchasing role. We prefer candidates with experience in retail or manufacturing, but this is not a strict requirement.

You are comfortable with systems and proficient in working with business systems and Excel. Experience with Jeeves or similar ERP systems is an advantage, as is experience with import-related issues such as customs handling.
