Within Primary Care Center Östergötland, there are 33 region-run health centers, three emergency centers, a child health care unit, and a general medicine training center.

The Ekholmen Health Center is responsible for a population of approximately 22,000 registered patients, the area is expansive with both urban and rural environments. For patients, the health center should be the obvious first choice when needing contact with healthcare.

Our mission is broad and comprehensive, offering care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

Job Description

Being a district nurse/child health nurse with us at BVC Ekholmen Health Center is a varied and diverse job where the child's health is the focus. With us, you will be offered a positive work environment with engaged colleagues who want to share your ideas and experiences. At BVC, you will work together with five other BVC nurses. The work involves standard child health care tasks such as parental support, telephone advice, consultations, group activities, and home visits.

The child health center is also part of a family center located in the same premises as BVC. Together with educators in the open activities and social workers, we have a close collaboration for children and parents for health-promoting, preventive, and supportive purposes. We use Barnsäkert, a systematic approach to identify and ask questions about various risk factors.

To thrive in the role, we believe it is important that you both appreciate working independently and collaborating with colleagues. The work consists of independently organizing your consultations according to the child health care program, while you and your colleagues support each other and work together to develop the operations forward.

Work Group

The health center has about 70 employees where much experience and competence is shared among each other.

About You

You are a licensed specialist nurse in the relevant field. Previous experience working in BVC is an advantage but not a requirement.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other organizations, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You also need to be able to handle various IT systems to perform daily care tasks.

You are a positive person, structured, have an easy time collaborating with others, and are confident in your role as a nurse. To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. We work closely together and need to have good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in everyday life.
