About Hemavan

Hemavan is one of Sweden's most well-known mountain destinations, located in the southern Lapland mountains in Västerbotten. Here, people gather year-round for skiing, hiking, cycling, and nature experiences in one of the country's most magnificent mountain environments.

About us

In the middle of the village, within walking distance to the ski slopes, airport, and mountain trails, lies Hemavan's Mountain Center. Here we operate hotels, hostels, cabins, and apartments, and facilitate a large number of private accommodations in the area. In total, we offer over 150 cabins and apartments as well as several different accommodation houses on the premises.

On-site, there is also the restaurant O’Learys Hemavan, conference rooms, and services for both private guests and companies. Many guests come here for skiing in the winter or hiking and cycling in the summer, but also for conferences, kick-offs, and group trips in the mountain environment.

Hemavan's Mountain Center is a place where people meet. Our goal is to create a gathering point in the Swedish mountains where guests can stay, eat, socialize, and experience the mountains together. Behind the experience is a dedicated team that works every day to provide guests with warm hospitality and a memorable stay.

Reception Manager with Sales and Leadership Responsibility

Do you want to lead, develop, and drive the reception at one of the mountain world's most complete facilities – year-round?

We are looking for a structured leader with a strong business focus who wants to take overall responsibility for the reception while also being an active part of our sales and guest experience. This is not a seasonal position – it is a long-term key role in our continued development.

Start: As soon as possible

Employment: Permanent (6 months probationary period)

Scope: Full-time, year-round

The Role – More than Reception

As the reception manager, you have the operational and strategic responsibility for the reception's performance, structure, and results. You ensure not only high service – you drive sales, optimize occupancy, and develop working methods that enhance both profitability and guest satisfaction.

You lead the daily operations, plan staffing, and develop the team. During peak season, the organization grows significantly, which requires clear leadership, structure, and the ability to create order even at a fast pace.

This is a year-round position focused on long-term sustainability, where you are an important part of our development as a facility and workplace. You are responsible for routines, flows, and quality in the guest experience, while also introducing and supporting seasonal staff. You are both a team leader and a team player, with your eyes on the big picture and your feet on the ground.

You report to the site management and are an important part of the facility's business development.

Your Mission

  • Lead and develop the reception's work year-round
  • Ensure high service levels and professional hospitality
  • Actively work with upselling, packaging, and revenue optimization
  • Be responsible for bookings, invoicing, cash handling, and administrative flows
  • Plan, introduce, and coach seasonal staff
  • Coordinate group and conference bookings
  • Develop routines, streamline processes, and improve system usage
  • Follow up on key figures and contribute to the profitability of the business

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience from reception, hotels, or the tourism industry
  • Has documented experience in leading staff
  • Is a natural salesperson who sees business opportunities in every contact
  • Is structured, clear, and confident in your leadership
  • Thrives with responsibility and drives the work forward
  • Works solution-oriented and has good administrative skills
  • Speaks and writes fluently in Swedish and English
  • Has experience with booking systems

We will teach you – if you have the right attitude

You do not need to have worked in a mountain environment or know our systems from the start. If you have a sense of service, sales, and leadership, enjoy collaborating, and take responsibility for your work – then we will teach you the rest. We are primarily looking for someone who is curious, solution-oriented, and motivated by being an important cog in a larger context.
