Käringöns Brygga (island restaurant) / Hotel Käringön
Käringön is a genuine and beautiful place, located outside Orust, at the far west. The surrounding sea is a great source of inspiration and provides us with access to first-class ingredients. Blue mussels and oysters are farmed nearby, and small-scale fishing supplies the kitchen with mackerel, langoustines, and lobster.
Our restaurant, Käringöns Brygga, has the best possible location with a view of the harbor and the sea. The restaurant is the island's local eatery where guests can socialize and take the day as it comes. The kitchen is well organized with nice workspaces and modern equipment.
The season runs from mid-March to mid-December. During spring and autumn, we mainly have pre-booked activities in the form of conferences and groups. During the high season, which is concentrated from Midsummer into August, we change our concept to à la carte. In the autumn months, the availability of fresh seafood shapes our menus.
We now want to take the next step forward, and for that reason, we are looking for a motivated head chef who can lead the work and develop the business further.
A different lifestyle
We who work on Käringön year-round have primarily chosen to do so because we love the sea and the dramatic nature. Here, there are opportunities for boating, hunting, fishing, diving, and other outdoor activities. Working on an island at the edge of the archipelago means, in a way, a slightly different existence. Personality and leadership style
We are looking for someone who can take on the role of head chef and has good experience in the culinary field. Your qualifications are important, but for us, your personal qualities are the most crucial. We are prepared to work hard to offer the best possible conditions. As a person, we want you to:

In addition to the above, we value broad educational and professional experiences, preferably from other industries. References from previous employment/assignments will be needed later in the process.
The workplace and employment
We want to offer a fantastic workplace with the right conditions and fair terms. The kitchen has good workspaces and is updated with modern equipment. We are of course members of VISITA, and thus we have collective agreements with both HRF and Unionen. Accommodation on Käringön is provided. Västtrafik operates ferries from Tuvesvik to Käringön year-round, and the company also has a seaworthy boat with a cabin.
The employment form for the current position is a long season or permanent employment with annual working hours. A permanent position will be preceded by a trial period. Salary and other conditions are individually based.
