The internal prototype workshop is a central part of the development work and enables rapid iterations, practical problem-solving, and close dialogue between design and production.

We are now looking for a prototype assembler for an internal prototype workshop at a technology-intensive company in Solna. The workshop is an important part of the development organization and allows designers to quickly test and verify new electronic designs.

In this role, you will work closely with electronics designers and development teams to create prototypes of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The work involves quickly building small series of boards for testing and evaluation before the products proceed to final development and mass production. By building prototypes internally, a faster feedback loop is created in the development work.

The work includes both machine and manual assembly. The workshop is equipped with pick-and-place equipment for component placement, soldering ovens for soldering components, and equipment for rework and fine assembly. The role also involves contributing to the development of work methods and routines in a workshop that is in a phase of establishment with newly installed equipment.

You will work closely with designers in development projects and provide practical support, troubleshooting, and improvement suggestions. The role entails a high degree of independence and the opportunity to influence how the work in the prototype workshop develops moving forward.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Experience working with surface mount machines (pick-and-place)

• Experience programming and setting up SMT equipment

• Good technical understanding of electronics production

• Experience working in prototype or small series environments

• Good manual dexterity and experience with manual tasks such as soldering

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

Experience working in development-oriented environments where production and design collaborate closely is an advantage. Experience troubleshooting printed circuit boards, rework, or working with SMT processes is also valuable.
