Seize the opportunity to apply for an exciting and developing job!
About the job
The animal welfare work at the county administrative board consists of planned inspections, complaint cases and follow-ups, permit cases, information and advice on applicable legislation to animal keepers and the public. The position involves both fieldwork and administrative handling in the office.
An important part of the job is conversations with people, either by phone or in person during inspections. The tasks also include the enforcement of decisions related to the confiscation of animals. This involves collaboration and coordination with the police, transporters, veterinarians, and animal shelters. The varied tasks require that you have the ability to shift focus several times a day.
The tasks may be adjusted and other areas of work may be added, based on the qualifications of the applicant and as our assignments change over time.
About you
You have a relevant university education or have acquired equivalent knowledge, which we assess as comparable, in another way. You have a good ability to read and write in Swedish and good computer skills. Furthermore, you should have knowledge of Swedish animal welfare legislation and preferably experience working with animal welfare inspections as well as familiarity with animals.
A driver's license (B) is required.
It is advantageous if you have knowledge of farm animals and animal husbandry, as well as equestrian management.
It is also advantageous if you have worked in a government agency and have experience applying administrative law. Experience in service-oriented meetings with people and/or tasks involving gathering information from people is also valuable for the position.
We place great emphasis on your personal abilities. Since the tasks involve advising, inspecting, and close collaboration with colleagues, good communication and collaboration skills are important. We often have contact with upset individuals, sometimes in vulnerable situations, and we make decisions that may be perceived as intrusive in people's lives. Personal maturity and being calm, stable, and controlled even in stressful or pressured situations are therefore a requirement.
To succeed in the role, you also need to be self-driven and have a structured way of working. Working in a government agency involves a constant process of change and development, so you should also have good adaptability.
Do you want to influence the future in Gävleborg and be part of us? Welcome with your application by March 25.
Application
We ask you to apply for the position through the link in this ad to facilitate our handling of incoming applications and to ensure the quality of our selection process. It is of utmost importance that you are careful when filling out your application as it will be assessed against a set competence profile and against other applicants.
