Machine Operator for Unique Test Site in Vidsel

Job Responsibilities
In the role of machine operator with us, you will work at a workplace that is completely unique in its design. We have Europe’s largest fleet of advanced UAVs and equipment including radar stations, optical systems, and telemetry systems. As a machine operator at the test site, you will work with transporting heavy trucks, loading and unloading, as well as earthworks with wheel loaders or forklifts. Some service and maintenance of our machinery will also be part of your job. You will also participate in the establishment of fixed targets for the testing operations and their decommissioning.
You will belong to the transport and service section, whose main tasks are to support the test site with expertise in transportation, passenger vehicles, target construction, fire and explosive material handling, as well as other emerging assignments and needs. You will have close cooperation with other colleagues in the section and contact with external customers.
The position is located in Vidsel. Working hours beyond regular hours may occur in connection with our test campaigns.
We are looking for someone who
Has several years of experience working with heavy vehicles and holds a C driver's license. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have training as a machine operator. If you have a CE driver's license, that is a plus. We prefer that you have qualifications for wheel loaders, graders, tracked tractors, cranes, and forklifts. It is also advantageous if you have YKB.
You have good collaboration skills as the work often involves close contact with the needs of the operations, its project managers, other employees, and customers. You are also flexible as our needs may change at short notice. As a person, you like to take initiative in your role and take responsibility for your tasks and are self-driven. We see that you are clear in your communication and ensure that messages are conveyed. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) is currently in an exciting phase. As an authority within the defense sector, our mission is to deliver what our Swedish defense needs, which is more important than ever. The Test and Evaluation (T&E) test site in Vidsel is part of FMV and has access to Europe’s largest test area on land. The test area is located in Lapland and covers a restricted, well-guarded, low mountain area of a total of 1650 km². Here, there is more than 60 years of experience in verification and validation (VoV) of military systems. The test site offers the Armed Forces and external customers an opportunity to test new weapon systems, train, and verify capabilities.
At the T&E test site in Vidsel, we can offer opportunities for outdoor activities including hunting and fishing in our test area.
