F 21 is looking for Airport Personnel for the Field Maintenance Platoon

Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21, is Sweden's northernmost air wing. The main base is in Luleå, with sub-bases in Jokkmokk and Vidsel. F 21's mission is to deliver air operational effect through the combat flying squadrons and JAS39. F 21 has one of the world's largest air exercise areas used by both Swedish Air Force units and units from other countries.

Unit Seeking

The Field Maintenance Platoon belongs to the R3 Company, which is part of Norrbotten Air Force Wing F 21. The company is responsible for the operation of three airports, one of which operates 24/7, all year round.

The airport field maintenance at Kallax Airport is a very important part of airport operations and ensures accessibility and flight safety for both civilian and military aviation. The position involves airport field maintenance with tasks such as operating field maintenance machines and maintaining them.

The main task of the Field Maintenance Platoon is to conduct field maintenance services such as snow removal, ice control, and wildlife deterrence.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has good social skills and is flexible, you are careful and responsible as the position often involves working in a smaller unit. Regardless of background, it is important that you are a team player; good cooperation with superiors and subordinates is a given. Being proactive, resourceful, and able to work under pressure is essential for the unit to function.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Driving license B, C, CE or equivalent military driving certificate
• Wheel loader certification according to TYA/BUN or equivalent military driving certificate
• Military driving certificates for heavy trailers, towed vehicles, wheel loaders, wheel tractors, excavators
• Experience in field maintenance services/airport operations
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language

Personal qualities

Your personal qualities are characterized by great accuracy, high safety awareness, teamwork ability, and responsibility. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable qualifications

• Knowledge, experience, and interest in construction machinery
• Experience in the care and maintenance of vehicles and machines
• Road grader according to TYA
• Overhead crane according to TYA

Work location: Luleå

Employment type: Permanent, the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time 100%

The position is shift-based and includes occasional night and weekend work as well as on-call duty at home.

The position may occasionally involve work at another airport.

The position includes a short basic training in soldier skills including weapon handling.

Civilian position

Travel within the position may occur, and follow-up tests for FM FysS are conducted annually.

Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.
