Job Advertisement: Outdoor Life and Culture in Örnsköldsvik

The Community Building Administration's Culture and Leisure Department sees outdoor life as a resource for development in our municipality.

With accessible and varied outdoor activities, we enable residents and visitors to have an active leisure time, which in turn contributes to good public health. You will be part of the team that maintains our outdoor facilities at around 30 different locations throughout the municipality during the non-snow season.

Job Responsibilities

Your main task is the operation and maintenance of the municipality's outdoor areas and facilities (mowing, brush clearing, tree felling, supervision and cleaning of rest areas, maintenance work on buildings and trails, etc.). You may also become a supervisor for seasonal youth workers for a period. The assignment also includes maintenance of equipment necessary for the work, such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, vehicle maintenance, and more.

You will be based in our workshop facilities in Köpmanholmen, but the assignment covers the entire municipality, both inland and archipelago.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an interest in outdoor life and cultural environments, who is solution-oriented and has strong practical skills. The work can be physically demanding at times.

You work methodically and structured and function well both independently and with colleagues. Personal suitability is of great importance.

A valid driver's license with category B is required.

Good physical ability is a requirement.

Meritorious: chainsaw certificate AB, brush cutter AB, driver's license BE or higher, skipper's certificate class 8, Hot Work certification.

During the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Tax Agency, or other ID documents that strengthen citizenship. For some positions, a police record check may be required.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sámi varieties as Örnsköldsvik municipality is part of both Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.

In our municipality, several positions are classified in security class, so a security clearance may be required. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
