We are looking for a Tree Safety Leader for Stångådal/Tjustbanorna at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). 

This is a consultancy assignment. 

Location: Linköping, Växjö, or Kalmar.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As a Tree Safety Leader, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and monitoring tree safety and vegetation clearing along the railway, including ensuring visibility at level crossings. The role involves coordination with contractors, authorities, and internal resources, as well as contributing forestry expertise to the National Tree Safety Program. The assignment requires travel across the country and may include remote work up to 100% of office hours.

Responsibilities

Designing tree safety within detailed planned land and coordinating with municipalities/property owners

Maintaining contacts with property owners and authorities

Responsible for design and logging

Ensuring land access for contractors in collaboration with land negotiators and project managers

Finalizing agreements for timber and biomass and ensuring preparation and reporting

Responsible for necessary permits and consultations with authorities/municipalities

Coordinating with Construction Work Environment Coordinators (BASU)

Assisting project management in monitoring contractors, contract documents, and invoices

Conducting and participating in construction and design meetings

Participating in the development and monitoring of the contractor's project plan regarding environment, safety, and quality

Following up on the contractor's safety rounds, deviations, and changes in logging work

Responsible for final inspections of logging sites and restoration work

Follow-ups that lead to improvements in project work

Supporting project management in the National Tree Safety Program

Final inspections of level crossings and preparation of management data for visibility sectors

Traveling across the country for fieldwork and implementation of measures

Requirements (Mandatory)

At least 2 years of forestry school or equivalent education along with experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration.

Possess a valid B driver's license.

At least three years of experience working on tree safety projects along railways or power lines.

At least 2 years of documented experience in risk tree inspections/inventories adjacent to railways/power lines.

Training in basic risk tree assessment.

At least two years of documented experience in project management within infrastructure projects.

At least 2 years of documented experience in practical work with the formulation of timber agreements for the sale of timber and biomass, as well as quality assurance of timber handling.

SoS leader.

Client's work environment responsibility.

Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. 

Desirable

You have access to and 2 years of experience using GPS equipment for network RTK.

You have experience in forest valuation.
