The parish of Filipstad is seeking a Church Caretaker for Rämmens Church

The Church of Sweden in Filipstad encompasses the entire municipality of Filipstad. Within the administrative area, there are 9 cemeteries, 7 churches, 2 chapels, and 3 parish houses. The caretaking department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all cemeteries and properties. Our area is divided into 2 work teams: Northern (Rämmen, Lesjöfors, Gåsborn, and Nordmark) and Southern (Nykroppa, Persberg, Brattfors, Eastern and Western cemetery in Filipstad).

We are now looking for a Church Caretaker for Rämmens Church and cemetery. The caretaker will be part of our northern work team, which includes churches and cemeteries in Nordmark, Rämmen, Gåsborn, and Lesjöfors. We offer varied tasks at the cemeteries and in our churches. The northern work team consists of 3 full-time employees, 3 seasonal employees, plus a few youths during the summer period.

The tasks include both cemetery maintenance and working in the church buildings during events such as baptisms, weddings, funerals, and services. The Church Caretaker will have primary responsibility for Rämmens Church and cemetery but is part of the northern work team and also participates in the work at other churches and cemeteries.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in cemetery operations and working as a church caretaker. You possess good communication skills, are used to planning and making decisions. Since we use digital tools for our administration as well as internal and external communication, you need to have prior experience with this.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

As you will be employed by the parish of Filipstad and perform tasks within the parish, you must belong to the Church of Sweden.

Responsibilities

As a Church Caretaker, you will be responsible for the daily operation of Rämmens Church and cemetery, as well as associated buildings. You will be part of the work team and perform minor maintenance on our cemeteries and in our buildings. As a Church Caretaker, you will participate in the joint planning of the work team led by the team leader. You will also be part of the caretaker group that serves during services, weddings, baptisms, and funerals, as well as in other parts of the parish's activities in churches and parish houses.

You should be able to meet people in both joy and sorrow, respond to visitors' needs, and ensure that operations are conducted properly. Making minor purchases is also part of the tasks.

About the employment

This is a permanent position at 100%. A probationary period applies. Salary: Monthly salary. The work is based at Rämmens Church and includes weekend and evening hours based on the parish's activities.
