The current unit for Digitalization, IT and Medical Technology is on an exciting journey of change. For a long time, our work has been characterized by a client-provider perspective, where we have primarily responded to short-term needs. Our mission in this unit involves a shift towards becoming a business-oriented partner that works closely with our colleagues in the region's extensive and complex assignments. The unit will consist of three core organizational parts: a staff for Strategy, Governance and Quality, Digital Development, and IT and Medical Technology. Together with the operations, we will drive digitalization and information-driven development while providing a safe, stable, and efficient IT and medical technology operation. It is by combining these perspectives that we can create the conditions for succeeding in our shared regional mission, even when demands increase and resources are limited.

Region Dalarna is now seeking a manager for Medical Technology Equipment (MTU) - a department that is in the midst of an exciting development journey where stable operations, modern technology, and close partnerships with healthcare go hand in hand.
The Department of Medical Technology Equipment (MTU) is responsible for all medical technology equipment within Region Dalarna. Here, we work with the entire lifecycle - from procurement and requirement specification to installation, service, training, maintenance, and decommissioning. Our mission is to ensure that the equipment is always safe, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations, so that healthcare can conduct safe and efficient work.
As the manager for MTU, you lead a department with operations throughout the region and a close collaboration with all parts of healthcare. You are part of the management team within IT and Medical Technology and work closely with other managers within MIT and healthcare-related areas to create a cohesive and secure delivery across the region.

Department Manager for Medical Technology, FalunJob ResponsibilitiesAs department manager, you have a consolidated operational and delivery responsibility for an area that is crucial for the region's patient safety and technical development capability. In this role, you ensure that the department delivers safe, stable, and appropriate medical technology equipment while being responsible for budget, personnel, and the continuous development of the operations. You play a central role in maintaining regulatory compliance, for example within MDR and GDPR, and lead the entire lifecycle management - from procurement and operations to maintenance and decommissioning.
You initiate and drive modern working methods and lead development and improvement work that strengthens both quality and efficiency. This includes close collaboration with healthcare operations, suppliers, and internal support functions to translate strategies into concrete and sustainable results. Your leadership is based on Region Dalarna's values - Openness, Respect, and Responsibility - as well as the leadership principles of Trust, Courage, and Clarity.
In this role, you will become a key person in the continued transition of Digitalization, IT, and Medical Technology towards being a business-oriented partner in the development of healthcare.
Additional InformationQualificationsRequirements
- Academic degree or other education deemed relevant for the position.
- Documented management experience, preferably with budget, personnel, and delivery responsibility
- Experience with medical technology equipment and systems
- Ability to translate strategy into concrete results
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
- Driving license B
Meritorious
- Understanding of healthcare processes and how medical technology supports the care chain
- Good understanding of medical technology regulations (e.g., MDR, ISO)
- Experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably within the public sector
- Experience with agile working methods, service design, or user-centered development
- Experience in lifecycle management of medical technology equipment
- Familiarity with using data for management, prioritization, and improvement
- Experience or understanding of how AI can be used to improve working methods, maintenance, safety, or decision support within medical technology equipment
