As of January 1, 2026, orthopedics in Dalarna will be consolidated under a common operations manager. To strengthen leadership and the tactical level, we are now looking for a first-line manager for the doctors at the Orthopedic Clinic in Falun.

The Orthopedic Clinic at Falu Hospital provides orthopedic outpatient and inpatient care. The operation consists of the orthopedic outpatient clinic, which receives 28,000 visits annually, and two inpatient wards; one for acute patients and one for elective patients - a total of 30 beds.

The Orthopedic Clinic at Falu Hospital is divided into 9 sections: trauma, pediatric, spine, shoulder, hand, hip, two knee sections, and the foot section. We handle most aspects of orthopedic surgery. Close collaboration occurs with the Op/An/IVA clinic and other clinics at Falu Hospital as well as with the Orthopedic Clinic in Mora. In addition, we have a close collaboration with UAS, USÖ, and the Sarcoma Center at KS. Orthopedic surgeries are performed in the central operating room, in the day surgery operating department, and in the newly built operating room of the orthopedic outpatient clinic, where minor procedures are performed under local anesthesia. A total of about 4,500 orthopedic surgeries are performed annually in the operating departments.

First-line manager for the doctors at the Orthopedic Clinic Falu Hospital Job Responsibilities

The Orthopedic Clinic in Falun has a group of about 40 physicians, and a decision was recently made to strengthen our management structure by appointing a first-line manager for the physician group. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence, inspire, and lead a team that provides high-quality orthopedic care. Our biggest challenge currently is our accessibility. Here we have a goal to balance our waiting lists so that we can meet the care guarantee. We also focus on developing Dalaorthopedics by clarifying and strengthening the collaboration between the clinics in Mora and Falun. You will play an important role in achieving these goals. You will be part of the clinic's management team.

The assignment as first-line manager for the physician group is a fixed-term appointment combined with a permanent position as a physician at the clinic, where you are expected to participate in clinical activities.

You will represent the Orthopedic Clinic both externally and internally and are expected to contribute to good collaboration as well as development and a holistic view within Dala healthcare and its care process.

You are the manager of senior physicians, specialist physicians, and resident physicians. You report directly to the operations manager for Dalaorthopedics. In the role of medical manager, you have personnel and work environment responsibility, which includes, for example, employee discussions, salary discussions, and handling rehabilitation cases. You are also responsible for staffing and recruitment of the clinic's physicians. The role also includes budget responsibility and operational responsibility, where development and follow-up of the operation's goals are an important part.

Requirements:

• Licensed physician and specialist in orthopedics
• Previous practical leadership experience
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Very good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good language skills in English
• Driver's license B

Meritorious:

• Completed management and leadership program
• Previous experience of change work
• Experience from working in orthopedics at another orthopedic clinic
