Cultural and Entertainment Reporter Wanted

NSD is looking for a cultural and entertainment reporter for a long-term temporary position who is passionate about telling stories about what is happening in this world for our readers in Norrbotten. We are looking for a journalist who is eager to chase news and seek strong stories and who is equally comfortable mingling at the region's major events as well as reviewing.

We aim to find the stories behind the scenes and be the best at depicting the role of culture in society, as well as telling about the people in the local entertainment scene. As a cultural and entertainment reporter, you will be part of NSD's team of reporters in various locations throughout Norrbotten. Our coverage area extends from Kiruna in the north to Luleå in the south. Your mission is to report on what is happening in culture and entertainment by finding news, covering concerts, festivals, performances, conducting interviews with both performers and audiences, writing reports, filming, photographing, working with social media, and broadcasting live.

To thrive in this role, you need to be genuinely interested in people, creative, curious, and have the desire to tell about what interests readers. You are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that a publication is as good as possible and should be comfortable being in front of the camera. An important part of the coverage is to tell through moving images but also to work with social media.

The editorial team works goal-oriented to achieve equal reporting and to reach a broad audience. Our readers are our clients, and we place great importance on analyzing what readers want. As a reporter, you are expected to work towards these goals and contribute your own ideas and engagement. The position includes travel around Norrbotten and work during evenings and weekends.

The temporary position is from August 2026 to July 2027.

The following skills are preferred:

• Experience in opinion journalism.
• Experience covering festivals.
• Experience in storytelling through moving images. Please send work samples.
• Experience with publishing on social media.

A journalism degree or equivalent experience is required, as well as a B driver's license since driving is part of the job.
