Balingsholm - A Manor for Close Meetings

Balingsholm is beautifully situated by Lake Trehörningen in Huddinge. Here, you are close to both lake and forest despite its proximity to the city and public transport. The surrounding nature is largely untouched, making the estate almost unique in the Stockholm area.

The manor was built in 1906 by builder Tisell and was later acquired by the royal court as a residence for Gustaf V's youngest son, Prince Erik, who lived here until 1916. When the world was ablaze during World War I, the then-owner carved a message of gratitude over the gate to Balingsholm. There, he expressed a wish that peace would always prevail at his beloved Balingsholm, and that is indeed the feeling one gets when entering the area.

Today, Balingsholm is owned and operated by the Orrvik family. Balingsholm is a modern conference facility with a very good reputation, known for its beautiful environment, excellent manor kitchen, and personal service.

ABOUT THE POSITION

At Balingsholm Manor, conference guests, wedding parties, and private celebrations meet in a unique manor environment. Everything from breakfast and coffee breaks to lunches, mingling, and grand dinners is served here. Cooking activities are also arranged, and snacks and refreshments are offered in the relaxation area – always with the same care for quality and experience.

In the manor kitchen, first-class food is prepared using seasonal ingredients. The menu is varied and combines Swedish classics with flavors from other parts of the world. There is room for creativity, professional pride, and joy in cooking.

Now, a valued colleague is retiring after 30 years – and we are looking for her successor to join the team!

ABOUT YOU AS A CANDIDATE

We are looking for a full-time chef for the modern conference facility focusing on conferences and event hosting. The work is varied and includes both cold and hot kitchens, with an extra focus on cold kitchen and baking of bread and pastries.

Since Balingsholm works with both conference guests and private parties, including weddings and celebrations, you need to be flexible and thrive in a varied environment. You have a natural sense of service and a passion for cooking really good food. You are social, stress-resistant, and flexible, with several years of experience in the profession and a genuine interest in quality and overall experience.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has documented experience from similar positions

• Has a genuine passion for food and service

• Is proactive, creative, and structured

• Is responsible and meticulous

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well both in teams and independently

• Is flexible and accustomed to collaborating across departmental boundaries

• Has good knowledge of Swedish and preferably also English

• Has a B driver's license and access to a car

Here, a family atmosphere prevails where many have worked for a long time. The staff is cared for, and everyone helps each other across boundaries to create a workplace where both employees and guests feel welcome.

WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS

You are offered a full-time position in a small, close-knit kitchen team and a pleasant working environment with variety and responsibility.

The position is full-time (100%) with a 6-month probationary period. Working hours are mainly Monday to Friday, both day and evening shifts, including 1-2 evenings per week and about 12 weekends a year, mainly in December and during peak season.

The facility is closed for a few weeks during the summer as well as during Christmas, Easter, school holidays, and public holidays.

Start date according to agreement. You will be employed directly by Balingsholm Manor after Majola Restaurangkonsult has completed the recruitment process.

As Balingsholm has limited access to public transport, a driver's license and a personal vehicle are required.
