Fire Inspector at Skaraborg Rescue Service

Skaraborg Rescue Service is a municipal association consisting of the municipalities of Skövde, Lidköping, Mariestad, Vara, Tibro, Töreboda, Hjo, Karlborg, Essunga, Grästorp, and Gullspång. The area has approximately 190,000 inhabitants and an area of about 5,700 km². RESPONSIBILITIES

As a fire inspector within the Fire Protection Control unit, you will primarily work with conducting fire protection inspections of fireplaces, flues, and ventilation ducts in large kitchens to detect faults and deficiencies in the facility to avoid damage due to fire.

Your work will also involve creating increased safety and understanding regarding fire safety, handling of fireplaces, how to burn correctly, etc., through communication with those you meet in your work. Since the Fire Protection Control unit is new, it will also involve being an active part of building and developing the unit and operations together with the unit manager and other employees.

For us, the work at the fire protection control is very important. Fire protection inspections must be carried out according to applicable deadlines, and our work must be of high quality; we must have good communication with those we meet during fire protection inspections, and we must ensure that fire protection is at a reasonable level. If we discover deficiencies in a facility that we assess need to be addressed, we will notify the facility owner of reasonable measures and then follow up to ensure that the measures are taken.

The rescue service is part of Sweden's total defense, and service with us entails military placement with general service obligation during heightened readiness or war.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate as a chimney technician

You must have a degree as a chimney technician according to §1 of the ordinance on education in accident prevention, or alternatively, according to older regulations, have passed the technician exam for chimney sweeps, completed a course for chimney sweep masters, or have obtained a master’s degree for chimney sweeps.

Driver's License

A requirement for the position is that you hold at least a B driver's license.
