Regional development works for good quality of life and long-term development through initiatives in areas such as public health, education, culture, traffic, and urban planning. Our current area manager is retiring after many successful years with us, and we are now looking for a manager for the business development area who wants to take a key role in shaping the future of the business community, tourism, and skills supply together with an engaged and highly competent team.

In the Regional Development Administration, we work to create conditions for competitive development and a good quality of life in our region. Our area of responsibility is broad and covers everything from public health, education, and culture to business development, energy and climate, and public transport. The administration consists of about 340 employees, and together we create development power.
Manager for Business Development Area, Regional Development Job Responsibilities
As the manager for the business development area, you play a key role in leading, coordinating, and further developing the county's work with innovation and business development. The role also includes overall responsibility for strengthening and developing the region's work with skills supply and tourism. The role encompasses both strategic and operational responsibilities. You lead a team of 12 employees and have full responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget. Together with your team, you create conditions for results that contribute to sustainable growth throughout the county.
Your responsibilities include:
- being part of the management team for Regional Development and actively contributing to the overall development of the administration
- reporting to the regional development director
- collaborating closely with other operational areas to create cohesion and impact
- developing and managing strategic partnerships with businesses, civil society, and the public sector, both regionally and nationally
- initiating, driving, and following up on development and improvement work
- creating forums for coordination, dialogue, and effective processes
The role is broad and spans several strategic development areas. It requires you to:
- build strong relationships internally and externally.
- be courageous and clear in your leadership role.
- be attentive and relationship-building.
- switch perspectives between regional development and the organization's overall picture.

QualificationsWe are looking for someone with an academic education in a field that the employer considers relevant to the role. You have experience working in a politically governed organization and a good understanding of the conditions that characterize public operations. Furthermore, you have documented experience in a managerial or leadership role, with the ability to lead, develop, and engage employees and operations. You have an interest in community development and a good understanding of the importance and role of the business community in society. Experience in regional development work within municipalities, regions, authorities, or other state operations is meritorious and seen as an important asset in the role. We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and their leadership, with good judgment and the ability to make well-founded decisions. You find it easy to collaborate and create trusting, long-term relationships both internally and externally. You are proactive and initiative-taking, with a clear focus on development and a desire to constantly improve and renew operations. You express yourself clearly and pedagogically, both verbally and in writing, and have the ability to adapt your communication to the target audience and context. In your leadership, you are flexible and results-oriented. You create engagement, participation, and motivation by involving and inspiring your employees.
