Åkershem is a special accommodation with 80 dementia places located in Kvarnsveden in Borlänge municipality. Here, nurses, nursing assistants, care assistants, and staff from the kitchen and cleaning work together. The facility also has a daily activity service that helps manage ancillary tasks such as kitchen and storage, contributing to a well-functioning everyday life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the deputy unit manager at Åkershem, you are responsible for the ongoing operation of the unit. Together with the unit manager, you are responsible for personnel, finances, and operations. The overall strategic responsibility for the operations lies with the unit manager.

You will be involved in planning, monitoring, and developing the operations and contribute to ensuring that the operations are conducted with good quality, efficiency, and in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines.

Your role includes mentoring care staff and team leaders in their daily work using a coaching approach.

Another important task is to develop working methods and routines to ensure good quality in the care and services we offer to the residents of Borlänge. The position involves a lot of communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic requirements for the position

• Started or completed higher education in a field deemed relevant by the employer
• Experience in care and nursing or in health and medical care
• Experience in a leadership position, such as team leader, unit manager, or similar
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

In your leadership, you create engagement and involvement by showing genuine interest and listening to the organization's needs. Your communication skills are one of your strengths, where you are clear and communicate in a simple and open manner. You collaborate easily and remain steady even in challenging situations. In your work, you have a good ability to plan both short and long term, work structurally, and follow up on processes. We also want you to have an interest in driving change and development to lead the operations forward.

Desirable qualifications

• Completed Borlänge municipality's aspirant program or other leadership training
• Experience with operational systems Lifecare and/or Heroma
• Experience in dementia care and/or elderly care
