Our Operations

The gynecological specialist clinics consist of family planning, pelvic floor clinic, endometriosis center, outpatient surgery, and emergency reception. Working as a nursing assistant with us means that you, in a team with doctors, midwives, and nurses, receive patients who seek our emergency reception. You also work in our planned operations by assisting doctors and midwives with various gynecological examinations and treatments. You also have a significant responsibility for the daily operations at the clinic by ensuring that materials and equipment are in the right place.

At the emergency reception, we receive about 500 patients each month with acute gynecological and obstetric issues, such as abdominal pain, bleeding, problems in early pregnancy, and infections. In collaboration with the unit for violence in close relationships and sexual violence, we also receive anyone who identifies as a woman and has been subjected to sexual violence.

At the outpatient surgery, we perform minor procedures under local anesthesia, such as removal of polyps, heat treatments, and insertion and removal of IUDs.

In family planning, we receive and provide counseling regarding unplanned pregnancies and guide women who wish to have an abortion. This visit also includes contraceptive counseling that all women are offered when seeking an abortion. We also have telephone counseling and perform certain abortions as day care at the clinic.

The pelvic floor clinic receives patients with issues from the urinary tract, prolapse, or persistent problems from childbirth, vestibulodynia, vulvodynia, and vaginismus.

Akademiska sjukhuset and our endometriosis center provide national highly specialized care (NHV) for certain endometriosis. The assignment focuses on advanced surgery that about 250 patients in Sweden need each year. We also accept referrals to the endometriosis center for assessment.

Your Mission

You are a trained nursing assistant and have experience working in a hospital; we consider it an advantage if you have experience in emergency care, obstetric and/or gynecological care. Since we work comprehensively with our patients, it is important to have a broad interest in the entire field of women's health care. You thrive in a varied environment where the workload shifts and approach your various tasks with enthusiasm and a desire to learn new things and develop together with your colleagues and the organization.
