Do you put the user in focus? SLU Library at the Umeå campus is looking for a substitute for the library's customer service and events activities.

About the job:

SLU Library is Sweden's longest library, with a presence in Umeå, Uppsala, and Alnarp. We are now looking for a temporary librarian for two of our colleagues in Umeå who will be on parental leave one after the other. If you enjoy providing good service to those in front of you, we believe you will thrive with us! You will primarily work with:

• the library's physical and digital customer service
• handling of printed media
• support for the library's event activities
• user-driven adaptation of the library's physical spaces

In addition, other common tasks at the library may occur. The tasks may change if the need arises.

Your background:

Everyone at SLU Library has diverse backgrounds and different competencies, which we are proud of and strive to strengthen in recruitment. To apply for this position, you need to meet the following requirements when you start your employment:

• bachelor's degree in library and information science or equivalent
• good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English

It is also an advantage if you have:

• experience working in a library
• experience working with user-centered methods

We are looking for someone who is flexible and has a strong interest in learning new things, as well as being structured, quality-conscious, and responsible. You also need to be able to provide a good and professional response regardless of who is in front of you.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

About us:

SLU Library collaborates with SLU's researchers, students, and staff to help strengthen the quality of SLU's research and education. We work to ensure that SLU's actors are successful in their activities and that the university's results are disseminated and become beneficial to society. The library has about fifty employees located at four of SLU's sites in a cohesive organization, and travel and digital meetings are therefore an important part of our everyday life. SLU Library offers the opportunity to work part of the time from home if desired and if it fits the needs of the organization.
