Software Developer at the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority

Do you want to work with complex issues and develop robust digital solutions that make a difference in society? We are looking for someone who can analyze and translate information into sustainable technical solutions. If you also have good collaboration skills, you could be our future colleague!

Societal Important Tasks

In the role of software developer, you have overall responsibility for the development process - from idea to deployed solution. This means you work through the entire chain. You develop and maintain the authority's IT systems and participate in projects within both software development and management. You create database and object models as well as information flows and actively contribute to the further development of our new generation of development platform for e-services. In close dialogue with the business, you provide technical support in matters related to design, functionality, standards, accessibility, and user-friendliness. You also handle integration and system architecture issues from a software development perspective and ensure that the solutions are sustainable over time.

Your mission is to build robust, efficient, and accessible systems in a team that supports the needs of the organization. This includes:

  • taking overall responsibility for the development flow from requirements to finished product
  • ensuring that frontend, backend, and databases work seamlessly together
  • implementing security measures and optimizing performance
  • writing testable code and testing, debugging, and addressing deficiencies
  • working systematically with version control and collaborating in cross-functional teams
  • being part of a competent team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and shared responsibility are a natural part of the work
  • having the opportunity to influence technical choices and contribute to a stable and modern digital public service

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • University education with a programming focus or other education combined with work experience that the authority considers equivalent
  • At least five years of current work experience as a software developer
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you know:

  • Git
  • Typescript
  • HTML5
  • Microsoft DevOps
  • React
  • SCSS
  • Telerik Kendo UI
  • Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Unit and integration testing

Personal Qualities

To thrive in the role, we hope you feel confident in tackling more complex issues and challenges. You have a good analytical ability and can understand and evaluate extensive information in a structured way.

Since you work closely with your colleagues, you are attentive and value open, clear, and constructive dialogue. You have a structured approach to work, plan your tasks well, and strive to meet agreed timelines. At the same time, you are meticulous and care about delivering high quality. We appreciate those who are engaged, set ambitious goals for themselves, and are driven to develop and achieve good results together with others.

We expect you to have a high security awareness and that you can work according to both Our Values - The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (stralsakerhetsmyndigheten.se) and the Government Values (forvaltningskultur.se)
