Close leadership, change, sustainable workplace

As a unit manager, you are the manager who is closest to the employees and the operations. You are responsible for leading and driving the daily work based on the department's mission and goals, where the state value base permeates your work. Through your leadership, you communicate clear expectations, follow up on goals, and provide your employees with the right conditions to take their responsibility. You have personnel responsibility as well as results and follow-up responsibility for the teams in your unit.

Your unit consists of 22 employees who work with sickness compensation and are located in Uppsala and Västerås. Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take their responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of context, direction, and the goals the department has set and develop the plans your operations need. As a unit manager, you support the area manager and are part of the area's management group with 12 people: managers, HR support, controller, administrative assistant, and regional collaboration responsible. Here, you contribute with your competence and commitment. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high security awareness.

  • have experience in leading teams
  • have experience in remote leadership
  • have experience in production management of case processing
  • have experience in planning your operations in collaboration with managerial colleagues remotely
  • have a good understanding of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's mission
  • have knowledge of sickness compensation
  • have experience in competency-based recruitment within the state.

A permanent, full-time position, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applicable. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. Possibility for remote work exists if the work allows.
