The Food Unit

The food unit prepares patient meals, serves lunch and snacks to external guests. The operation is divided into four different workplaces: the production kitchen on Nedre Vattugatan, Restaurant Kajutan, the Intermediate Warehouse, and Café Entré on the hospital grounds. We also have several smart refrigerators in the hospital that provide patients, relatives, and staff with food and drinks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Chef at the food unit with a focus on Kajutan, the hospital's restaurant, where you are part of a team of chefs and kitchen assistants preparing food for the restaurant's buffet, primarily for staff. We place a strong emphasis on using local and Swedish ingredients, and we also prepare meal boxes for our refrigerators located throughout the hospital. The work also includes ordering goods and discussing menus with the responsible coordinator. Other tasks may include preparations, cleaning, and dishwashing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Culinary education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• HACCP training and/or experience
• Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
• Willingness to work in a team and collaborate
• Kitchen mathematics
• Good physical condition as the work can be physically demanding.
