We are looking for accommodation assistants for the reception units in Boden
We offer a dynamic environment characterized by daily meetings with people from different parts of the world and a solution-oriented approach.
Description of the accommodation operations at the Migration Agency
You will work with issues that concern and engage in a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and influenced by what happens in our surroundings. It is also an environment characterized by continuous learning and participation, where we, among other things, through co-location have better conditions to work closely together between the professions in the asylum process. We are also close to the asylum seekers by working where they live. This way, we can work more efficiently and make it safer for the asylum seeker.
It is an international environment as the authority will become more integrated into a common European asylum reception and EU authorities such as Frontex and EUAA next year. When you work in the reception operations, you become part of the journey towards a new and reformed asylum reception. Since the operations are under development, there are many opportunities for development. You are expected to be open to your skills and engagement being needed in various tasks performed at the accommodation, where not least service and guidance are ongoing elements.
What does an accommodation assistant do in an accommodation operation?
As an accommodation assistant, you contribute to professionally meeting individuals' needs and creating security in the accommodation. You provide support, service, and information to people in the accommodation and external stakeholders. As an accommodation assistant, you handle situations that arise in the accommodation and identify and manage special needs that individuals may have. You also participate in coordinating activities for asylum seekers.
In your role, you meet people in a situation of uncertainty and change, which places demands on your ability to communicate and meet individuals in an empathetic and clear manner.
You take care of documentation and administration related to the accommodation and carry out transport between accommodations and office premises. The work includes managing service and logistics around the accommodation and planning so that accommodation places are used efficiently and purposefully. You inspect the Migration Agency's asylum accommodations, equip rooms and apartments to ensure they meet the right standards, and report faults to the landlord/supplier.
Feel free to listen to our podcast where two experienced team leaders at the Migration Agency's accommodation share their experiences of working closely with people seeking protection in Sweden here (https://www.migrationsverket.se/om-migrationsverket/jobba-hos-oss/vi-som-jobbar-har.html#podcast).
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, who is attentive and resolves conflicts constructively. You are service-oriented and accommodating in your interactions with both colleagues, applicants, and other stakeholders.
As the operations are mobile, you need to be secure and stable even in stressful or pressured situations, maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things. You enjoy variation and can easily adapt and change your perspective and approach in changing circumstances. As an accommodation assistant, you are keen to implement the Migration Agency's values of courage, empathy, and clarity in your daily work.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
You who are applying have
- High school education or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Good communication skills and express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
- Good ability to communicate in English.
