The Role of Nursing Assistant

As a nursing assistant, you play an important role in ensuring that the reception work runs smoothly to provide the best possible care for our patients. You will have a varied, stimulating, and diverse job with tasks including work in our own laboratory and reception duties. This includes tasks such as independently checking vital parameters, EKG registration, assisting with examinations, and ensuring that the materials needed for patient work are in place. It also includes your own reception, taking blood samples, and handling samples before they are sent for analysis at the laboratory. You will also work together with a nurse in a team and take care of acute patients.

The position is a permanent employment at 100% with a start date according to agreement. You will work Monday to Friday, and the health center is open from 8 AM to 5 PM. Some shifts may occur in the evenings and weekends at the Urgent Care Center. In the role of nursing assistant, you should be able to work independently and in a structured manner while also appreciating being part of our collaborative teamwork. Providing good service and working safely with patients is a given for you, and you easily adapt to changing circumstances when needed.

Your Future Workplace

Smålandsstenar Health Center is part of primary care and belongs to the Bra Liv health centers operated by the Jönköping County region. The health center also has a branch in the community of Reftele, about ten kilometers from Smålandsstenar, which we staff from Monday to Thursday. Together, we have over 10,600 registered patients and about 40 employees. We are located on the outskirts of Småland, in beautiful nature - but still no more than a little over an hour to Gothenburg, Halmstad, and Jönköping. We are situated in Gislaved municipality, which offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities, many active associations, and good schools. Our communities are characterized by the “Gnosjö spirit,” which is also reflected in our operations.

Your Profile

• A requirement is that you are a trained nursing assistant, and we prefer that you have experience in reception work in primary care.
• The work requires that you are self-sufficient and can structure your own work with an understanding of the whole.
• You work well with different professional groups.
• You are flexible and want to develop and improve the operations together with us.
• You absorb new knowledge and can function as a knowledge resource for your colleagues.
• You adapt your work, approach, and attitude based on the patient and situation.
• We prefer that you have experience working with laboratories.
• You have a driver's license.
• We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
