Medical Specialist Clinic (MSK) - Nursing Assistant

The Medical Specialist Clinic (MSK) is part of Primary Care in western Östergötland, Motala Hospital.

Within MSK, a broad internal medicine operation is conducted, and the clinic encompasses emergency care, inpatient care, outpatient care, and advanced home care. At MAVA/MOA, patients with various diagnoses are treated. In the MAVA care team, patients with infections, lung, endocrine, gastrointestinal, cardiac, and hematological diseases are cared for. At MOA, we care for the most severely ill patients, such as those with respiratory failure, sepsis, circulatory failure, severe electrolyte disturbances, ketoacidosis, seizures, and more. The department has a MAVA care team with 6 beds and a MOA care team with 2 beds. The MOA beds are designated for a few patient groups requiring a higher level of care with continuous monitoring, unlike a regular medical ward. If you work at MOA, you should also be able to work at MAVA.

Job Description

At MOA, the patients consist of the clinic's own most severely ill patients who temporarily require continuous monitoring and advanced treatment, including respiratory support and potent medications. We have our own near-laboratory where we analyze, among other things, arterial blood gases. MOA consists of 2 beds and has the same staffing around the clock with nurses and nursing assistants. Medical support is readily available as there is a doctor assigned to the MOA care team, and during on-call hours, there is a general practitioner based at MOA. At MAVA, patients are primarily cared for with lung and infectious diseases, which are often treated with various types of medical technical equipment such as Optiflow, Bilevel, and CPAP.

About You

You are a nursing assistant where further education in intensive or intermediate care is an advantage but not a requirement. See the basic requirements for employment as a nursing assistant here.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as responsibility and a willingness to learn new things. As a person, you are positive and see opportunities in changes and enjoy working closely with other professional groups in a team. The department works a lot with professional development both internally and externally. Since you will be communicating with patients, relatives, care neighbors, and colleagues, it is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Application and Employment

We offer a permanent position at 100% with rotation between days, evenings, and nights. You have the opportunity to work according to the 90/10 work model, which means a weekly working time of 33 hours and 20 minutes instead of 37 hours. This gives extra time for leisure interests each week. The schedule is based on the desired schedule model and includes weekend work on two of five weekends.
